some men..even without sound..they are loud and audible..
what am i wanting to say, so many tings at once, esp., since i never know when explorer will crash and i loose my thoughts..
but what about a guy i can really relate with, on all levels of my life;
the core being; art, drink, smoke, sex, and culture..at least as i define culture..

u know, i am so tired of this story; esp., the straight, insecure f*(ks who promote such dribble..speaking of fag bashing rappers..The bottom line, particularly for those who consider themselves progressives or radicals, is that homophobia, aside from being morally wrong and flat-out ignorant, is counterrevolutionary. "An injustice anywhere is an injustice everywhere." Rappers can claim anti-government, or pro-black, or pro-social justice or whatever all they want, but if they're casually throwing around anti-gay slurs then they're directly participating in the oppression of a significant portion of the world population.
Which is, of course, exactly what the powers-that-be want. We can't have decently-funded schools or universal health care because voters are too upset over the prospect of gay people getting married. We can't have revolutionary organizations because racism, sexism, classism and homophobia hinder people's basic ability to work together. It's divide and conquer, and perhaps it goes without saying, but it's bigger than hip hop too. Politically-minded rappers being homophobic mirrors a lot of other problems associated with the Left: white liberals being racist and completely oblivious about it, male activists being all for smashing the State but not willing to follow female leadership, college student organizers holding meetings that working-class people are not able to attend, the list goes on and on. We all need to start thinking more holistically.

One of the suspects in the killing of Sean Ethan Owen, 23, gave police a brutal recounting of how he and two other Durham, North Carolina, men wanted to steal a car, found their intended victim on a gay chat line, beat him, shot him and threw him into the Eno River. They didn't keep the car. Matthew Lawrence Taylor, 16, Shelton Deangelo Epps, 21, and Derrick Arness Maiden, 18, remain jailed. Owen's father, Michael S. Owens Sr., said his son's death was a hate crime, not a robbery. "They shot him before they even attempted to rob him of anything," he said. In North Carolina, there is no hate crime penalty for killing someone because he is gay.

A Matthew Shepard Case With Different Cast?
The 1998 beating death in Wyoming of Matthew Shepard, a white gay college student who was beaten and tied to a fence post, prompted hundreds of stories and continues to be used as a reference point in
discussing hate crimes. Two white men, both 21, were sentenced to life in prison.
This morning's Raleigh News & Observer contains a similar story -- only the suspects are black, the victim is white, and the location Southern and urban.

killing and remain jailed. Their cases are likely to be heard soon by a grand jury. But at a bail hearing for Taylor this month, the first
detailed account of the killing became public. The account reveals the three used the gay telephone chat
line as a hunting ground, but what began as a robbery plot ended in a violent death. . . ." "We were going to get the gay guy high to steal his car," Epps told police. "[Taylor] said if the guy was not smooth, he would shoot him."Then there are the details.
"In front of the car, Taylor pulled the revolver, cocked the hammer and put the gun to Owen's head. Epps remembered that Owen said, 'Please don't do this to me,' and turned to run. "Taylor fired. Owen was hit in the head but did not fall. The three ran after him, and each hit Owen in the face. Owen was trying to get back inside his car while Epps, now holding the gun, tried to get a clean shot. Owen kept fighting.
"'The old boy is still moving. I'm thinking, "This boy is a soldier," ' Epps said in the statement," the story continued. After abusing the body some more, they rolled it into the river.It will be interesting to note who pays attention to this story, and whether anyone examines where these young men learned their values.

A 14-year-old boy has been shot by Iraqi police officers for the apparent crime of being gay, the
Independent of London
reported.
According to his neighbors in Baghdad’s al-Dura district, Ahmed Khalil was shot at point-blank range after a scuffle with the police.
Ali Hili, an exiled gay Iraqi who is Middle East affairs spokesman for the London gay rights group OutRage! said, “According to a neighbor, who witnessed Ahmed’s execution from his bedroom window, four uniformed police officers arrived at Ahmed’s house in a four-wheel-drive police pick-up truck.”
“The neighbor saw the police drag Ahmed out of the house and shoot him at point-blank
range, pumping two bullets
into his head and several more bullets into the rest of his body.”
Hili claimed that Ahmed was a “victim of poverty” and apparently killed by “fundamentalist elements in the Iraqi police.”
It is believed Ahmed slept with men for money to support his poverty-stricken family. They have since fled the area. (source)
Ahmed’s story – A cruel, barbaric death. Gone but not forgotten.
Ali Hili, of Iraqi LGBT-UK and OutRage!, was told about the execution of Ahmed Khalil by his gay contacts in Baghdad. They knew
Ahmed and his family, and have collected eye-witness accounts from Ahmed’s neighbours, which they have relayed to Mr Hili in London.
This is Mr Hili’s story about the execution of Ahmed, based on firsthand accounts given by eye-witnesses and neighbours:
“Ahmed Khalil was a likeable, playful 14 year old boy, born in the southern Iraqi town of al-Ammara,” said Mr Hili.
The eldest child, he came from an uneducated family who lived in great
poverty.
After the 2003 US-led invasion, the Iraqi economy collapsed, causing widespread unemployment and the disintegration of social services.
With no income or welfare support in al-Ammara, Ahmed’s family moved to Baghdad a couple of years ago, after the fall of Sadaam Hussein.
His father wanted to find a job to support his wife, two sons and daughter. The family settled in al-Dura, a very poor southern district of Baghdad.
Ahmed’s father worked as a night watchman on a building site for the pitiful wage of 10 dollars a month, plus permission for him and his family to live on the site until the construction of the new houses were completed. They lived in the shell of the unfinished buildings. It was a life of desolation and destitution.
Ahmed was often bullied by the neighbourhood boys for being poor. He had no one to protect him.
It is unclear whether Ahmed was gay or not. He had sex with men, often in exchange for small amounts of money and food. He did this in order to
help his family financially. Sometimes they were so desperate, he had sex for a few potatoes or some bread.
Ahmed’s ‘gay’ reputation spread all over his neighbourhood, causing great scandal. His behaviour was reported to the police by informants in the community.
In early April 2006, Ahmed was found dead on the doorstep of his house. He had been shot, with two bullets in the head and several bullets in the
rest of his body.
According to a neighbour, who saw Ahmed’s execution from his bedroom window, four uniformed police officers arrived at Ahmed’s house in a four-wheel-drive police pick-up truck. The neighbour saw the police drag Ahmed out of the house and shoot him at point-blank range.
Several other neighbours confirm this account, although they did not see the actual shooting. They say they heard gunshots and saw the police leaving the scene. They then found Ahmed’s body lying on the ground outside his house. It is believed by these neighbours that Ahmed was
executed by the police.
Two days before Ahmed’s execution, his father was arrested and interrogated by the police. They demanded to know what he knew about Ahmed’s sexual activities and blamed Ahmed for corrupting the community. Officers eventually released Ahmed’s father. His son was killed soon afterwards.
Both Ahmed’s mother and father wept over their sons’ brutal killing. Even though homosexuality is taboo, they did not agree he deserved to die. The family see him as a victim of poverty and police murder.
Because they are so poor, the family could not afford a funeral for their son.
The day after Ahmed was murdered, his family moved out of the area, fearing police retribution and denunciation within the local community. The family’s whereabouts and fate is unknown.
Ahmed is one of many hundreds of teenage boys and girls in Iraq who sell their bodies to survive and support their impoverished families.
Our gay contacts in Baghdad condemn the sexual exploitation of young people. They are endeavouring to help rescue teenagers pressured into
prostitution.
“Iraqi LGBT in London and Baghdad call on the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the Red Cross and Red Cresent and international aid agencies to take action to aid poor Iraqi families, so that children no longer feel obliged to resort to sex-for-money in order to survive,” said Mr Hili.

Iraqi LGBT is appealing for funds. The money raised will be used to help protect gays and lesbians targeted for execution; including hiding them in safe houses in Baghdad, and helping them escape to Syria and Lebanon.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- A former Columbia police officer was sentenced Tuesday to life in prison without parole in the 2004 death of a University of Missouri-Columbia student with whom he had an affair.
Steven Rios, 28, also received a consecutive sentence of 10 years on a count of armed criminal action for the throat-slashing death of Jesse Valencia, 23.
A Clay County jury, brought to Boone County because of intense media coverage of the case in Columbia, convicted Rios of first-degree murder in May.
Meet Jesse James Valencia. Jesse was murdered by a police office who was seeing him on the side. It sounds like a plot out of
a soap opera. Unfortunately, it’s all true. As it turns out, he was killed by a man named Steven Rios, a police officer. Rios killed Jesse because he feared that Jesse would talk about the affair he was having with Jesse. Rios was married and had a child. He didn’t want that exposed. So one night, he
went to Jesse’s home, and, after a heated argument, killed him.
Even with 27,000 other students in this leafy college town, Jesse James Valencia stood out. Outspoken, gay and blessed with the looks of an Abercrombie & Fitch model, the 23-year-old junior seemed to saunter through his busy life at the University of Missouri.
He carried a full load of history and political science courses, worked evenings as a hotel clerk, and packed his social calendar with parties, Internet dates and drag shows at
Columbia’s only gay nightclub. He wrote editorials in the campus papers advocating same-sex marriage and had big plans for his future.
“He talked about going to law school and he even toyed around with
running for president, the first homosexual,” a friend, Jennifer
